Picture heavy!!!

Well, I've been putting off posting this for a while and just lurking around the forum but I might as well post it now before I have even more pictures to post. This will go from when it was stock to now with worn 35's. It's a 1996 GMC Yukon SLE.

This is the best picture I have from when I got it September of 2014, didn't take many stock picture of it... this is actually a screen cap from a video I took. I got it for free from one of my dad's coworkers in non-running condition. He was just tired of pouring money into it since he doesn't do his own repairs.

I got it running by only replacing the cap and rotor but I went ahead and replaced the fuel pump while I was at it since I know GM has fuel pump issues, especially with the CSFI.

This is stock height with the old 31's I used to have on my Jeep.

Then I went ahead and ordered the whole RC 4" spindle lift with shocks and rear block. I also did a rear leaf spring ******* pack with a set a G3500 van leaf springs since I am building this Yukon as my tow rig. I still need to go back and fine tune the leaf pack, it's a little too rough without a trailer. It's just trial and error swapping leafs in and out until the desired ride/lift/support is achieved.

Then since my rear was about 2" higher than the front with the ******* pack, I added a 2" coil spacer to the front... And yes, it is as hard as everyone says to put them in. I had to take off the lower control arms and put the spacer under the spring then jack the lower arm pack into place.

Then, of course, when you add a spacer with the spindles you need upper control arms because there is no way to get the alignment right. Well I put an order in for the Canuck Motorsports upper control arms and they came back and said I quote "We must inform you that the company we order our upper lift controlarms from. Is no longer carrying them"... So lucky I'd found another place as a backup called Crown Suspension. So I ordered a set from them and to tell you the truth they look the same as the Canuck Motorsports and Doetsch arms.

After alignment and yes, the ABS lines are cut. I have the module unplugged.

Then I was able to score a set of 35x12.50-15 tires for $100.
I hate the second picture, it make it look like it has a ton of cali lean, which it doesn't. it's just my driveway and possibly my picture skills, it only has about an 1" for so but I still don't like it. But I can't fix that until I get a custom driveshaft, the stock one is already too short as it is so there is no way I can lift the back up to level the truck or even better, make the back slightly higher than the front until I get a longer drive shaft.

And then because why not, here's some flex shots.

Finally here's a shot of what it looks like now, just took this picture.

And that's it so far, next big thing (after my K2XX mirror swap, already have them just modding them) will be some 20x10 Anthem wheels and some 285/60R20 Kanati Trail Hog tires (Goodyear Duratrac knockoffs) that will be coming hopefully when I get my taxes back. Along with the rims will be the 6 lug conversion, already have everything to do it including a 2000 Denali rear end with 3.73's.
Damn. That is all. Lol. Love the Yukon! I just finished installing the 4" lift as well. I don't have a spacer on though. I had the coils and hated them since I put them in so I finally did away with it.

4" RCX lift with some 3/4 ton leafs on the old homemade flatbed, affectionately named "ol' faithful". Shes not the prettiest beater rig, but the damn thing has never left me walking.

I'm really digging all the exterior green lights! Nice yukon!

Thanks! Yeah, it's a little rough but after I build a front bumper and add a 10k or 12k winch to it, it should mellow out, but the front is nowhere near as bad as the back is unloaded. Pulling a trailer it's perfect, unloaded it rides like a log truck. But that comes with piecing together your own leaf pack, takes time and trial and error swapping leafs in and out to get it where you want it.

I've got a 96 single cab short bed. Been looking at the 4" Rough Country kit, but I'm curious about tire size with a 20" wheel. Can I run a true 33 with just the 4" lift? Or will I have to use a body lift, too?

my 32's rubbed before I trimmed the plastic valence with the 4" lift. I wouldn't try 33's without a body lift

Yeah, that's what I figured. Looks like I'll be ordering the kit soon. Can't find anything else and I'm not really into the whole lowered truck scene, lol.
