so originally i had a pretty big oil leak (only with motor running) in this area. traced it back to the oil filter adapter seals and replaced them.

i then went for a drive to walmart and back to check on it, then after parking i could see a small oil drip, but not coming from the oil filter area this time, instead it was just a little bit of oil coming out of the hole in the pic just to the right of the oil pan

does anyone know what this hole is/what it's for/what's still leaking?

That is the torque converter dust shield. If you have transmission fluid leaking from the front seal ( torque converter input ) it will be red in color and dripping out of this hole.

looks a lot more like engine oil. i changed my transmission fluid recently so it shouldn't be black yet. could it possibly be the rear main seal leaking into there?
