$1000 installed sounds good to me, but I haven't looked much into lowering. Look into the "xj steering shaft" upgrade. Takes out a lot of slop they say. I'm going to do it in a few weeks.

Yeah it really does. I did it a few months or so ago and I love it. It's super easy too LoL!
