Messed Up Seat

hey guys. i need some help figuring out how to fix my passenger front seat. the problem is that it doesn't lock in place. if you pull the lever it will retract up, but if you let it go it will just fall backwards if you sit in the seat. i have no clue what to do about it any advice would be much appreciated.

Sounds like the recline mechanism is wore out. There are small gear-like teeth that will get rounded off over time. Or there there is some fabric/foam/junk caught up in the teeth. Gotta pull the seat out, & remove the seat cover to access that.
