A quck search s found that the 454 makes about 400 ft-lbs of torque while a LS 6.0 makes 375-380 stock. The thing is that the 6.0 can be upgraded to make much more power fairly easily with heads, cam, intake, etc

I know what they do number wise, I have two other vehicles with LSx's in them. Looking for feedback as to who has put them into tow rigs, how they stacked up to the 454.

Mike can the LSx engines torque curve be modified with intake, and cam to be as low as the old 454? iirc that beast is making its peak torque by <2500 rpm where most LSx engines need 4k rpm to see thier peak torque.

if you have a 6.0 you'll have all the torque you need especially with a converter (torque multiplier) or a cam. my truck makes 550 ft torque at 2500 rpm at the wheels on a loaded dyno. i think that is enough low end =)

The big block's aftermarket support towers over the LS.
