I have intentions of building 2 smooth tonneau covers for our lowered trucks and I'm going to need locking handles. I didn't care for the look of the pop lock ones so I'm pretty stoked to see the Bully one.
My girlfriend's truck is like that hahaI was noticing on my trips down south more and more tailgates were missing handles and I couldn't figure out why until my cousin told me that's how they get them open.
Exactly why I went with the Bully one. The pop lock ones look out of place. I don't remember exactly how the install was, but I don't think anything would keep someone from getting in if they really want to. It's just one more thing for them to deal withBut if someone can just punch the handle out they can still get in by sticking their hand in the hole and using the rods.

I cut the plastic off mine, it made it better IMO.I hate that damn key. It's too big
Nope, I only really used it when I had a tonneau cover on the truck years ago, now a days the red truck mostly sits in the yard and the dually has no tailgate on it 95% of the time anyway.Have you looked into moding it to a different lock assembly?

The way the bully one installs, you could if you pulled the trim and bent the rod or unclipped it. But nothing is theft proof. But if someone can just punch the handle out they can still get in by sticking their hand in the hole and using the rods.
