This 350 made the same noise I am hearing on your truck, sometimes it would knock and sometimes it would not.

Damn that one didn't wear out, it looks like it spun. The caps/block and crank didn't have any marring?

I assure you the journal was smooth and straight as a baby's rear. And I used green plasitgauge. I measured in three places on both areas making six measurments between .032 on one side of the oil side half of the bearing and 0.28 on the other. The lock's are fine, it didn't even try to spin. Here look at the locks.

Its just the thrust area wore out, if you catch this in time you can slip a new bearing in and save the block. Or even save your trans from blowing apart.
