The lq4/lq9 swap is not as complicated with a vortec engine. You can use a 411 PCM and most of the vortec 350s wiring harness from what I've gathered.

if i can find an lq9 for cheap and get it rebuilt for cheap i may do that, so would i get more out of the lq9 than i would out of the 383? im not trying to kill it i just think that a v8 should have over 350hp, after i bought my truck and found out the motor only had 255hp i was shocked!!! i thought that big truck would have at least 300 to the crank.
