are the heads from the older TBI engines the same as the heads on the spider injection engines?

nope. 96+ heads are vortec. They will bolt onto your short block but youll have to buy a different intake manifold if you want to keep your tbi

I work in a junkyard and I found an old TBI in the back that I think has aluminum heads on it. Haven't had a chance to look closely. I was thinking about throwing them on my 96 if they'd fit but I guess I'll just try to sell them. Any idea what they might be worth? Not sure what brand or anything. Just saw them at first glance when I was pulling parts for another car.

Tbi heads will not fit your 96.. 96 was a vortec motor...

As far as price... used heads, are always a crap shoot, I never pay more then 50 to 100 a pair from the yards around here... that's me going to pull them mind you.....

tbi with aluminum heads wouldnt be stock but aluminum heads might be depensing on valve size runner size chamber size etc

Find the casting number on those heads. Cast is stock to TBI. Aluminum is not.
