Headlight wiring colors...need help please and why.

'92 Chevy sub k1500

Can anyone help me identify these wires and where they go or do.

Also, can anyone help me understand why someone would do this to the headlight connector...connect the orange and red wire together??

Or is there somewhere on this sight for assistance like a already posted thread?

It easier for you to download the Factory service manual , for your 92 , here in the forum. It's free. Get book 1, in section 8, the index you'll see the headlight exterior lighting section. Get to the diagram. Has all the wire numbers, the wire colors, all the info is there. It's easier that way. You have in your hand.
