Stock manifolds are leaking so rather than funneling money into fixing the leaks I'm buying a set of long tubes.

These are the two that I have my eyes on:

https://www.holley.com/products/exhaust/headers_and_exhaust_manifolds/long_tube/parts/2462HKR

http://pacesetterexhaust.com/96-99-gm-pickup-suburban-blzr-tahoe-yukn-headers-w-egr-only.aspx

Could anyone offer an opinion between the two? And/or post the link to the non-vortec headers on a vortec motor thread? Couldn't seem to find it, and would like to know whats involved in making the hookers work with the EGR on a vortec.

Motor is a 97 vortec 5.7

Thanks!

If you're worried about egr get some with egr fitting. I will get ridiculed for this but do not use gaskets. use red permatex instead it may sound stupid but you'll thank me if you ever try it.

Not necessarily worried about it, but non-vortec headers are usually significantly cheaper than ones with the EGR fitting for the vortec motors. Just wanted to see what it would take to use them. I've seen the thread on here before, just can't seem to find it.

X2 on buying the correct headers for your application. It may be more money, but it'll save you a lot of work. Between the two you posted I'd definitely go with the Pacesetters.

EDIT - They're also way cheaper if you buy from a reseller instead of through Pacesetter themselves. Example:

Get the pacesetter 70-2262 ceramic or black coating, bolt right up just have to get a y pipe built... or you can do a shorty header with a direct fit y pipe from magnaflow or jegs... I did the later on my 96 and it added a lot of pep, more from the y pipe then the headers actually
