gear shift position indicator problem

so ive swaped a 2002 4.8 ls eng and 4l60e into a 98 chev p/u. im using all the 2002 eng trans pcm and harness and uhfb. 98 p/u had a 4l60e before. swap went great but i dont have a working gear selector indicator in the instrument cluster any more. does anyone know where this signal comes from? or what i need to do? thanks for any help

It gets the signal from the neutral safety switch
So then the pcm has the info, im wondering how it gets from there to the dash. In the 98 truck the trans harness goes into the truck behind the glove box, in 2002, which is what we now have it goes to the pcm under the hood, my question would be how does the signal get from the 2002 pcm to the 1998 dash ? Do I maybe have to hook up one off the wires to the module behind the glove box
