Gastank questions

I went to carquest to get gastank straps and they asked what size tank i had (25 or 35 gal) im sure its 35 so i got straps for that, my tank goes from the back of the cab to infront of the rear axle is it 35 gal? and does anyone have a diagram of how the straps mount?

You never filled up your tank? The straps bolt on either side of the tank and the straps do just that. Strap the tank up. It should be pretty self explanatory. Check the LMC truck Catalog sometimes they have good pictures.

No but im gonna have to i guess, i just took a quick look under it tonight

oh.... makes more sense now. Just a heads up getting new straps bent and fit right is a pain in the neck! I had my ratchet on a jack with the bolt and everything ready to go. Then used the jack to lift it all high enough to start the bolt

It's also either a 26 gallon or a 34 gallon, that's the original tank sizes.

with his long bed, Id guess the 35 he chose to be the closest to the right answer

the easiest way to tell what size is to look for an arm attached to the frame for the tank, you will have to look at the frame to tell. if the arm is there then you have the 26 gal and if not then it is the 35 gal, here is the link to lmc's page with the diagram.

every early obs i've looked at 88-94 the long beds are 34 and the short beds are 26

i have seen a few long beds with the 26 gal tank, rare but they do exist.
