So further down the rabbit hole we go. Fuel pump fuse keeps blowing. Replaced the pump (needed one anyways) and fuse still blows even when pump and/or fuel pump relay is disconnected. Quick rundown the wire running down the frame to the pump seems good. Fuse blows when turned to on position. So maybe something in that same circuit that comes on when the ignition is on is shorting out? Been looking at wiring diagrams, but I'm still trying to learn how to read these things lol. Anybody been down this rabbit hole before or could give me some pointers? Much appreciated.

When you replaced the fuel pump--did you also replace the in-tank wire harness for the pump and sending unit? Soaking in gasoline and vapors tends to degrade the insulation on the in-tank harness, and the connectors get corroded.

But it's more likely you have a bare wire somewhere outside the tank. Nothing to do but inspect all of it. Pull it out of the loom, look for burnt areas.

Or install a jumper wire instead of a fuse, and watch for smoke and fire...
