Flowtie

I borrowed an idea from the newer Camaros and HD Trucks. Removed the emblem and dremeled out the material behind it. Grille now has what GM calls a Flowtie and it opens right on to my transmission cooler. Should help some with transmission cooling on really hot summer days.

The best part is it was a free mod to do. Took about 30 minutes to do taking my time and that included removing and re-installing the grille.

Looking at my 96 K1500, the cooler sits lower to the passenger side.

I had to go to the dealer and get a part for my wife's Envoy. Saw a new truck with the Flowtie. The inside was painted red on a black truck. Really sharp looking. It gave me the idea to possibly do on mine what you did.

This is exactly what I was thinking since aftermarket grilles aren’t a perfect stock fit. Also $90.00 for a replacement bowtie….ole girl could use a bit more airflow to the radiator in SoCal Desert heat anyway.
