Need to replace the fan clutch on my truck. Parts list asks for standard or reverse rotation. Obviously the crank is turning clockwise, my fan is turning counterclockwise. I'm assuming this makes it a "reverse rotation" but I want to confirm this. Any info on this would be great as I'm new to GMT's.

Thanks!

You are correct. The V belt fans rotated the same direction as the crank, as did the manually tensioned serpentines with grooved fan pulleys. The auto tensioned serpentines with smooth fan pulleys are reverse.

Thanks for the reply, makes sense now, I was just confused as none of the part descriptions mentioned that it was reverse of the crankshaft rotation just "reverse rotation"...

Anyway, replaced the fan clutch and now my GMT doesn't sound like a Mack Truck going down the road lol
