I just upgraded my radiator from a leaking 1 1/4" thick one to a new 2 1/4" thick one. Bonus, it comes with provisions for an engine oil cooler. Hate to see it go to waste and all....

Where do the factory lines for the engine oil cooler hookup? Anyone got some pics perhaps?

Thanks

Is this for the 350? Personally, I'd skip it. Those lines typically leak after awhile, and the Dorman replacements will leak faster than the OEM lines did. My driveway looks like the BP oil spill, right now.

The lines go back to the oil filter adapter that you probably don't have. I think with the 350 you have things easier than I do with the 454, but it still it looks like a hassle to me.

Besides the adapter, you might need to change bypass valves, but that depends on where they are on the 350........ if in the block, then you'd probably need to change them. If they're in the adapter then presumably a used adapter would have the correct ones.

Get one from jegs with -AN fittings if you want to use the radiator end. Much cleaner and easier to work with.

The oil cooler fitting would take the place of the factory oil switch adapter. Located on the engine, under the carbs. Has one wire going to it. The new adapter will have the switch port, and a in-out set of fittings, to loop up to your cooler.

yeah I did the shorty PH oil filter swap (short to clear the front driveshaft) on mine because the lines were leaking... $60 for new lines and a bigger job, or $20 and 2 bolts....

side note, I used a pipe cutter to cut the cooler line ends so I could attach anything to the fittings with hose clamps.... and now the engine oil cooler is my power steering fluid cooler =)
