Hey guys, the door striker on the driver's door of my 94 k1500 burban is beat to hell and driving over bumps makes a lovely noise. I've got new strikers but haven't dug into it yet. I can't seem to find a definitive answer as to whether or not the nut that secures them is captive. Can someone please clarify this? If it isn't captive, is there an opening in the b pillar under the trim? I don't want to have to cut into the pillar.

They are not captive (at least on my 88). When the trim is removed it is easily accessible.
