Do the black flowmasters stink at first?

I just put on a super 44 yesterday that came painted black. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not but after I installed it and I drive around and get out it stinks kind of like a burning smell, a hint of burning rubber. Do those mufflers stink for a little while as they are exposed to the high heats? Maybe the paint? I'm hoping it's not something new

That's weird. I wouldn't think the paint burning off would cause much of a smell... I run Pacesetter painted shorties on my red truck and all the paint burnt off of them in the first week, never noticed a smell from them.

That's what I would have thought too unless the paint is sprayed on as a high heat paint that cures while used
