Differential question

Just thinking about doing something with my rear diff.
Right now I have the stock 373. looking for an entry level upgrade something that locks.. any suggestions?

A G80 is pretty entry level. You can pick up Z71 rears for cheap at parts yards and Craigslist. It isn't all that strong, but mine(99 Z71) holds okay for light off roading. Then there are the Tru Tracs. And it goes up from there.

Does your front have a locker or open diff front and rear? A G80 spider assembly would do you well, I'd personally get an upgraded(fixed the factory flaws)one from Eaton or Allison, there's some on eBaY that seem to sound pretty good(going by description of what's been done....no personal experience with them though).

If you have a open carrier now your next best route would be a lunchbox type locker. I've had zero issues with my lock-rite and found no problems when daily driving it.
