Check engine light while idling

My service engine light comes on when I'm idling at stops or whenever I let it idle for more than 15 seconds. Haven't noticed any change but the light comes on and haven't found a obd1 reader around anyone had this problem before?

Here are links to pull the codes with out a code reader. The first tells you how to pull them and the second is the list of the codes. The only tool you need is a paper clip.

Have you ever figured it out? I got the same issue rigtlhr now

Last time I had that problem, the vehicle ('89 K1500 5.7L) needed an O2 sensor.

But since folks don't want to tell us what vehicle they're dealing with, it's hard to make suggestions.
