Cargo lights work but 3rd brake light doesnt

On my '95, the third brake light is not working. The cargo lights work fine. I have an aftermarket led third brake light but the stock one did not work either. No fuses are blown. Any "common issues" that would cause this or am I down to tracing wires with a multimeter?

some had a 10 amp fuse under hood.

Doesn't appear to be a fuse for it under the hood either.
