Can't find vssb module on 97 c1500

Okay I just need the speedo corrected and I couldn't seem to find anything on it beside the vssb module and my truck doesn't have one.

Might be able to tune a correction in pcm, but that’s definitely in @L31MaxExpress lane.

I don't know if it would work but just watched a video on it and they got on a highway with the dash apart and had the speedo needle out and used google maps to see how fast they were going and set the cruise while going about 60 and they just put the needle in on 60 and said it worked fine but I don't know.

@L31MaxExpress, any input on this? Need help with speedo reading 8mph fast after putting bigger rims and smaller tires my truck.

It would be right at 60mph but still off above and below.

your probably right I don't know any other way to get that fixed. any other ideas?

Speedometer is something that has to be adjusted in the PCM tuning. Very few have the ability to program the 96-97 Black Box. TunerCats OBD2 can but it is no longer available commercially as they sold out the rights to Jet and it became the JetDST. Could always 0411 swap it and that unlocks a bit of performance.

BlackBear adjusted mine for a 245 to a 265 tire size. It is accurate now FWIW.

I wouldn’t swap to 0411 just to make speedometer correction.

True but I'm also getting ready to build a 450hp 383 and 4l80e swap it so it would be better since they are easier to tune. Also don't wanna spend 350 dollars on a black bear tune that mess your truck up 80% of the time.
