Well if it were me I would keep the TPI and run a 411 ecu. But that I guess it would depend on how cheap it is and how cheap I had to be. I just know I would seize the opportunity to get rid of the TBI for something with more than 2 injectors.

THIS x2

also, as stated before, if a stock motor, something is slightly off, 87 was the first year for a 350 in a Thirdgen. Waterpumps are the same rotation, LT1s changed them.

^^ this is all correct. Water pumps are the same, just put your truck accessories on the front of the TPI motor. It will all bolt up. I'd be very cautious looking up casting numbers on the block to verify it is a 350. Its very possible its a 305.

Yeah if it's only a 305 how bad could it be? Should still at least have a roller cam right?

I'm only running a 305 as it is. Would be nice to put in a 350, but I'm not set on it.

If its an 87-up model 350, yes its roller, if its an 86 305, no its not. If its a 87-up 305, HO, yes, if its a 87-up 305 non-HO, no. Casting numbers should help you determine that. Honestly, i'd rather have the extreme TBI mods done and that on TPI heads than TPI on my truck. I have an 87 IROC with a TPI 350 in it. That intake makes working on everything HELL.

The seller of the motor just got back to me with some casting numbers from the block. 14093638 is what he came up with. Through a quick search I found it is a 350 with possibly a roller cam. I'm gonna check it out Sunday.

look on the block by the trans flange where the bell housing bolts to the block on the drivers side it might just say 5.0 or 5.7 I know the 305 in my brothers 84 camaro does aswell as alot of the motors I disassembled at the shop would say it if, the block was a one piece rear seal.
