I'm from MI, so I'm used to seeing rust. That frame is really bad.

That's really common in the upper midwest, even when frames aren't as rusty. Water (rain) gets between the cab and the box. Rusts it out. A guy can cut the frame apart and section in a new piece.

They DO make a cab/box bracket. It doesnt look 100% stock, but a lot easier than making one from scratch (done that!). Or you could make one like that..
