body lift front bumper brackets question

ok the stock front brackets bolt on and have welded nuts on them, from what I've seen the body lift front bracket have slots, so I'm guessing you have to put a nut on and hold it while threading in the bolt and tightening it. Is that right? they have slots? if so how do you go about holding the nut, right thru the front frame or underneath or what? I am asking because I need to make some adjustment in my stock brackets and thought of slotting them or something. I just didn't think there was much room for a wrench or something inside the frame but I know the body lift ones are slotted or the pics show em being that way.

Mine won't move up enough but from what I saw it doesn't have any slots, maybe I'm wrong, have to check it out.
