I remembered something, when those first came out, quite a few were installed. They look good sure. But I always look at things, stuff with an engineer's eyeball. What material is made of? How is it attached ? What's the weak points?
You used to be able to tell who had them installed and then loaded them over capacity. As there would be the outline of 4 holes in the shape of the tie down. The 4 holes looked like 4 bullets had blown out from inside the bed. Or just a half inch of flip up T part, as the T part broken off. :Big Laugh:

I have D-Rings bolted through the horizontal supports that are on underneath the bed using carriage bolts with a fender washer and lock nut, other than things catching when sliding in I don't have any complaints or issues.

I used marine stainless cleats mounted on the square post holes with stainless bolts, washers, and the locking nuts, plus a load of grease to prevent rust in the drilled holes. For extra strength, I mounted them through the plastic bed liner. The center 2 are fold down out of the way when not needed and are dock cleats, very solid.

My box rack system slides back and forth and is easily removed. It’s from a short bed Tacoma which is why the rails are not 8 ft. I’ve had 16 ft boards on it on the Tacoma and the 98. Rated for 1000 lbs, welded aluminum.

I got a set of these. I like them. Don’t notice them when they are down. I’d rather have some in the bottom of the bed but didn’t want to drill holes. I might put some rings in the hole in the pocket as well to get something a little lower.

Do they squirm when you put a load on them? That was my complaint with the generic ones. These look different.
