pm sent.

I went to a new JY today and found another aztek, so another full set will be for sale. Check the for sale forum for my thread.

I guess 2004-2008 Pontiac Grand Prix are easier to find than I thought...

Pictures and info on the grand prix vs. aztek needles.

aren't they beautiful? :D

As I and others have said the needles need to be cut. The lengths are wrong on them.

Pictures are just comparing the original lengths to a stock cluster.

funny thing about the grand prix needles... I think I'm going to swap my smaller aztek needles for grand prix needles and cut these parts out...

Haha, glad I was able to let you know about those Grand Prix's.

Maybe I'll check a few junk yards around and start selling these things.

Any idea why your needles do that when your engine shuts off? I've never seen that before. :hmm: It would bug me too. Haven't had time to pop my set in yet, but I'll get on it soon.

They do that due to the weight of the needle. that's what those little orange pins on the needles prevent

makes sense, they seem to weigh the same to me though. The pins should fix it.

Well. That was a huge pile of fail. If anyone wondered - this does *not* fit on the 93-94 clusters. The factory needles have a much smaller, brass fitting, versus the plastic on the gp/aztek. They fall off.

The holes must be reamed/massaged with a safety pin to fit the 95-98 cluster. I'm sure the same goes for the 93-94.

Scrapping the Aztek needle idea. I don't want to have squirrelly gauges. And if they weigh enough to flop down couldn't that cause the stepper motor to move incorrectly? Just a thought. I'm no cluster expert. Ill just have mine sanded and candied in red. With LEDs to illuminate them.
