1994 K1500 ash tray under dash will not stay closed. Does anyone know what part makes it stay closed?

I found an old thread that said there should be a spring somewhere. I’ll have to look when I get time.

Grille and corner lights definitely did change in '94, prior to the interiors. Only reason I know that is all the shopping for rare corner lights I've done.

I honestly think GM started the change halfway through the model year. 94 literature doesn't mention an update but 95 stuff does, I've always believed it was 95+ but others are adamant it's 94+...
