Anyone know any places to go offroading in the DFW area?

I have had many place suggested but a 3 hour drive is outta the question and some of them no longer allow anything but bikes or atvs. Thanks in advance. I would need beginner trails but i do want mud.

I found a place in Grapevine, about 45 min. from me, called Bass Pro Road. I was wondering if it was legal or what. It isn't part of the roadd. On google earth it looked like you would have to jump the curb and go down the road. Any help?
