Does any body know of a stereo that is shallow enough to fit in the oem slot. I'm willing to cut/fiberglass the sides and fabricate a bracket. I just dislike the idea of having to reach across the dash to change a tune. Also has anyone ever used any of those 6 inch subwoofers that are on the market?

A 6" sub will have next to no response under 60hz or so. You need more surface area for real bass in a vehicle.

If you have a 88-94 you can buy one of those radios that does not have a cd player. They're typically only 3"-4" deep, or you could just buy a dash kit. If you have a 95-98 depth isn't typically an issue.

Yeah, you won't get much from a 6" subwoofer.

OK thanks for the insight on the sub. I have a 94, so it's still the old styling. Wold a 3 or 4 inch fit depth wise where the control head is now?
