Does anyone know of an add-on Bluetooth audo module that will work with 88-94 radios? I have a 93 suburban with the digital eq/ cassette. I want to retain the factory radio but add Bluetooth

The only ones I've seen are ones that ran through the radio via an antenna tap. that was a long time ago though.

Made a little progress and bought an amp.

It is fairly low distortion and a little better chip than what is in the video.
Found this video, it had a lot of clues.

A 10K resistor will fake out the head unit and kick it into tape mode per the video.
Thinking I will follow his lead and just reappropriate the tape inputs. I can't imagine putting a cassette in and listening to it.
Time to buy the bluetooth module

I think it's right here in this section where someone hacked an aux input into the stock unit. That combined with a bluetooth dongle would get you what you needed. EDIT - reading back, I see you already found that post.

This is the one I chose, for a different application.. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BYGEVA4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01

Picked it based on someone's comments here that they tried it and it works well. I have yet to install them, waiting for a nice warm day when I have time. Right now too chilly, sure to break clips on the bezels.

I mostly chose the more expensive Bluetooth option because it supported the APTX music std and it was highly reliable about reconnecting to your device.
The preamp should be here this weekend so I can possibly get it working.
My purchases this far are:
Bluetooth reciever

preamp
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00&tag=viglink22311-20
10V linear regulator for the preamp

This should stabilize any voltage issues that the preamp may see.

That was me, those Millennias are pretty awesome. No AptX but I can honestly say I can't tell the difference. I've done side by side comparisons on my home stereo with stuff that's AptX compatible and I hear no improvement. The Millennias are also extremely reliable about reconnecting, mine do it every time with no input required.

According to the APTX website, you get "CD quality sound" ... out of mp3's. If there's any mp3 compression going on at all from the original CD source file, I think claiming CD quality sound is dubious at best...especially after APTX compresses it some more. But whatever. I'm no audiophile, and I doubt any of us could tell the difference. We already accept some quality loss from using compressed files in the first place.

Not to mention wireless streaming via Bluetooth at all, or any other wireless transmission method. No wireless audio streaming is ever going to stack up against a wired connection. If you want CD quality, play a CD. If you want convenience, be prepared to sacrifice in the SQ department. Just the way it is.

All things considered though, I'm sure either adapter will work fine.
