Finally resolved the brake issue. Yes over a year later(I was deployed for 6 months, and then barely drove it over the winter).
The issue was the front drivers wheel. I put the truck up on jack stands, and could rotate all wheels freely. I started the truck, pushed the brakes, and could not rotate the front drivers wheel by hand.
Took the caliper off, the piston compressed just fine, and the guide pins moved freely(although a tighter fit than the passenger side. I greased the guide pins some more, and had the same result.
The issue was corrosion between the caliper and bracket. There was apparently just enough corrosion built up, that it would not release the outer pad from the rotor. I cleaned up those surfaces, and applied some copper grease. It has been just fine since.
A few weeks ago I got the rooftop tent mounted. I mounted it on the factory cross bars. That did not work out so well. They simply had too much flex, and with the curve of the bars, it put the bolt ends(even with shorter bolts) too close to the roof and it would hit the roof. It was also a pain in the butt to get the bolts on and off.
I ended up buying a set of Thule feet and Inno cross bars, and remounted the tent, and it fits amazing! More secure and no risk of hitting the roof and causing damage.
