Finally got around to doing my center caps. I think they turned out great!

At first they were significantly darker than the wheels. The wheels were real dirty though. The last picture is after a hard rain. Still not a perfect match, but they look way better than not having center caps.

Next up is getting the brake issue fixed. I believe it's actually the rear drivers side that's grabbing. I'm hoping it's just an adjustment issue.

Then fixing the AC(has a hole in one of the lines at the compressor).

Wiring up the mirrors so everything works.

Mounting the rooftop tent.

Finally resolved the brake issue. Yes over a year later(I was deployed for 6 months, and then barely drove it over the winter).

The issue was the front drivers wheel. I put the truck up on jack stands, and could rotate all wheels freely. I started the truck, pushed the brakes, and could not rotate the front drivers wheel by hand.

Took the caliper off, the piston compressed just fine, and the guide pins moved freely(although a tighter fit than the passenger side. I greased the guide pins some more, and had the same result.

The issue was corrosion between the caliper and bracket. There was apparently just enough corrosion built up, that it would not release the outer pad from the rotor. I cleaned up those surfaces, and applied some copper grease. It has been just fine since.

A few weeks ago I got the rooftop tent mounted. I mounted it on the factory cross bars. That did not work out so well. They simply had too much flex, and with the curve of the bars, it put the bolt ends(even with shorter bolts) too close to the roof and it would hit the roof. It was also a pain in the butt to get the bolts on and off.

I ended up buying a set of Thule feet and Inno cross bars, and remounted the tent, and it fits amazing! More secure and no risk of hitting the roof and causing damage.

I also was able to get out camping for the first time on Saturday. I was hoping to see the Norther Lights, but we were not lucky enough for that. However my kids and I did have a great time, and I got 11.8 mpg on a 130mile trip through the mountains. That impressed me especially with the brick of a tent on top of the truck. Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

Next up, a trip to the Grand Canyon at the end of the month! My boys and I are decided.

Glad to see you posting again and thank you for your service!

Will you please post some close up pics of your mounting solution for the roof top tent?
