Extremely new here, so sorry if therest already a thread about all of this.

This weekend I purchased my first truck, a 92 C1500, I don't know much about these yet, I know it's got a 5.7l TBI in it... No clue which trans though and don't know much about the TBI system.

First off, seems to be idling low to me, around 500 rpm and bogs down a bit and dies if I crank the wheel while stationary. Not sure if it's because of a TBI issue, or something else. This is my biggest cknceco at the moment as I just want the truck running right.

Next question..

What quick/simple/cheap things can I do to ensure reliability and or increase power, torque, and/or throttle response.

Also, a friend says he has all the parts to swap my 350 to a carbureted setup. Is that something worth considering? Pros, cons?

Is there anything else I should look out for..?
