Hi im new here just looking for some info on swapping my 89 stepside. I currently have a 700r4 planning on getting a 383 stroker crate engine off of summit and I wanted to put a manual in it. I wasn’t sure what would be a better option. Buying a transmission and everything separately or buying a parts truck. Ive heard nv3500 wont hold much power and I don’t want to put 3 nv3500 in. Has anyone done a similar swap and have some advice?

They make 5 and 6 speed trannys, and bolt-on full install kits for almost all American vehicles.
And they offer units that'll withstand all the power that motor will make.
Dont trust a used take-out transmission.

"I" would buy a parts truck with the heavy-duty trans.

Then, I'd probably fix-up the parts truck, which leaves me still needing a trans to put in the truck I already have. I'd have to buy another parts truck.
