My 94 is getting higher miles on it. I dont have plans to throw another TBI motor in it. I'd much rather go 5.3 or 6.0. Very curious as to has anyone did a LSX Swap into a 90-94 with a write up? Maybe a parts list so I can slowly start gathering all the parts I am going to be looking for to complete said build. This is going to be a totally new thing to me. I am hoping for performance + Bolt on performance gains and then better gas mileage then what I got now.

I found a couple trucks that were rolled over and one that was hit. It was a 5.3 that I could buy and then use everything I need off it, Then scrap the rest of the truck for 4-500 so I only really paid 500.00 or so for a trans, Engine, Wire harness, Computer ETC.

Any body able to touch on these subjects and help me out? I know I sound like a noob but this will help me out greatly!

Yeah unfortunately the info provided here is well, all over the place.. ls1truck.com would be the place to go.
Hopefully one day we can get enough compiled information here to help everyone out with there LS swaps.

After figuring all the cash I would spend on rebuilding my 350 I reverted back to my original plan for a turbo LS motor plan. So just bought a running 5.3 with harness and all from LKQ for $296..

There is a sticky at LS1truck on the how to swap for the OBS. I Have been over a dozen times the last 2 days and printed a few copies of the wiring sticky they have over there.

The wiring seems a bit intimidating. But once u have crammed a Viper V10 into a 95 Mustang, an LS swap in these trucks seems like childs play. LOL

check out powerblock TV they've done that on many of their projects.
anything from "super budget minded" to over the top stupid horsepower.
the problem that most seem to have though is the fuel delivery system..... because that is where it gets expensive....

personally, if I was going to do the LS thing in my truck, I would buy just the long block and the belt set up out of a rolled over salvage truck; and get an intake manifold that would accept the stock TBI....
otherwise your looking at close to $3,000 for a brand new EFI system, unless you go carbureted...

either way, I would avoid a "drive by wire" set up.... I just hate those things. I think theyre unsafe.... remember Toyota? LOL
