5.0 to 5.7

[98 gmc 4x4]

Did any one Ever switch from a 5.0 to a 5.7 I know I need the 5.7 wiring harness and computer and the 5.7 exhaust because the 5.7 has 2 cats the 5.0 has 1 cat. Is there anything different in the transmission? Also is there anything else I would need to change thanks for your help.

I have never switched but my 95 5.7 has only one cat off of the "Y" pipe on the passenger side

The 5.0 have 3 o2's and 5.7 has 4 o2's sensors. I thought the 5.7 had two cats?

The 96-99 Vortec 5.7s have two cats and 4 O2 sensors, but the pre 96 tbi 5.7s only have one cat and 1 O2 sensor

trans is fine it will bolt right up,do you have a doner truck or are you buying it from a salvage yard?

is the ecm from the same truck the motor is out of?
