1994 GMC K1500 4x4. Need to pull both engine and trans, but I've never pulled them together on a 4x4 before. Any problem(s) doing this and leaving the transfer case in place?

Thanks in advance!!

I tried all 3 with a 454 Vortec, 4L80, and BW transfer case. I had to cave and remove the transfer case to get it out and back in.

Your best chance of success is to get the vehicle as high as possible, to make room to angle the engine/trans up and out of the engine compartment.

I would pull the engine, but drop the trans/transfer case from below.

The sad truth is that "most" engine hoists are not up to the load of an engine and a transmission; and don't have the lift height to pull the pair. There are engine hoists that can do this, and of course gantry/crane systems--but they're not the cheap Chinese junk that gets sold to most hobbyists.
