My diff went out and I dont use the 4wd anyway. How can I just make my tahoe a 2wd and loose the extra weight

Clarify that. The bracketing the diff broke I believe

How far do you want to go? You get it down without the transfer case and everything, but if anyone can chime in does that front diff hold any sort of rigidity.

I have done this, I removed all the 4wd part's, but you do need to unclip the axle stub and put it back through the wheel bearing to hold it together, it has to be there, but just the end stub, everything else can go.

Yeah you remove the CVJ boot, and there is an inner clip that you remove and the axle comes apart, it is usually buried in grease, I don't have a pic as I did this back in 08.
