I've run 285/65's 285/75's, 305/60's, 305/65's, 33/12.5's, and 37/13.5's on 3.42's. 3.73 is a better ratio for 285's but, not worth changing gears for though.

Haha I dont really care if I have to work on it lots cuz I alread do! So if I can fit 37s it might look better then it does now with the 315. And hey if I get 37s thats 2" more lift! I might be better of doing a sas at this rate.

what would be the best all around gear ratio for a 3/4 ton 4x4 with 265's? i currently have 373's but i was debating 456's because i dont thing there would be enough of a difference to justify the cost of the swap just to go to 410's..i pull a 5th wheel travel trailer occasionally and the best this thing will do on a straight a way is 55 mph and it acts like its murder on the engine...its an 89 chevy 2500 with a tbi 350

is there something inbetween a 410 and a 456? or do you think the 373 will perform better with engine upgrades? im about to swap for a vortec 350 using my exsisting tbi set up so that might help
