AFAIK, only the 2500, 3500 had that body in 1999. I have never seen a 1500 'classic' registered as a 1999. It may be possible, but I have never seen it. One family member had a 2500 classic, a 00 model year, 6.5TD.
they actually where still making the 1500s up until the half way mark of 1999 then discontinued really rare truck because instead of ppl ordering them they opted for the new body style that was available!

Don't know what AFAIK stands for. They made 99 1/2 tons. All of them had the chevrolet banner sticker on the tailgate too. Even the loaded up trucks. It is a dead give away for a 99 classic 1/2 ton.

1999 was the last year the C/K Silverado Pick-Up displayed CHEVROLET on the tailgate.
The GMT800 Silverado/Sierra 1500 (light pickup trucks) were released in 1998 as 1999 models. The "classic" light-duty GMT400 C/K trucks were continued in production for that first year alongside the new models, and the Heavy-Duty GMT400 pickups (alongside the GMT400 SUVs) were continued through 2000, with the new GMT800 Silverado/Sierra HD (Heavy Duty) being introduced.
