Gotta have 4 doors..... Rawhide, TOTY 2023!
This was Dad's truck, and looked really good before sitting outside for a few years. The Texas sun is not kind to old paint!
On the plus side, the truck has a 6.0 LQ4, iron block/aluminum heads, 4L65E and AWD with 3.73 gears. Would pass just about anything but a gas station.....
The interior is in very good shape except the carpet needs a good cleaning and part of the flip up mechanism on the driver's side second row is not working properly. I think a cable is broken but not sure....
Bose stereo with 6 disc changer works great, sounds amazing (this is the one part I would keep if I could). When we drove it the AC was ice cold, and the heated seats give you toasty buns in 90 seconds or less.
The fluid temperature sensor in the transmission is bad, and the engine had "low oil pressure" warnings on cold startup. I think this is due to the screen on the sending unit being clogged. It has around 205K on it.
With Rawhide and The Burb, and my old truck, I have 3 too many projects already, so as much as I would like to keep this one, I can't. This was my dad's baby, and we put many miles on it going around Houston and to many swap meets. Rode well, handled incredibly well, and was a good cruiser except for the mileage.
We bought it used from a GM dealership in early 2013, drove it till mid 2018. Only thing I had to do to the engine was the water pump(twice) and radiator hoses and both belts, and regular oil change with AC filter and Quaker State oil.
Other than the previously mentioned engine and transmission issues, it needs shocks and rear coil springs. The charging ports might be loose, they weren't working the last time I tried to use them.
I would like to get $2500 for it, but would go less. I need to send this truck on to a new home; with some attention and $$ it could be a good truck for someone as it was for us for six years.
I don't want to just sell it to the junkyard, they won't give me anything for it...and the running gear alone is worth something.
