I found one online. I ordered it. Some how it does not work. Opened the switch and tested it with the volt meter. I think both of the lights are burned out which creates all kinds of problems. Before I try to rewire this one with new bulbs, does anyone have an extra working switch they would be interested in selling? Or does anyone know of someone selling one besides the $300 fog light switch and harness currently on ebay?

I've fixed two fog light switches (damaged traces) and swapped in new bulbs. I could take a look at yours if you want. I bought my switches a few years ago when they were "just" $35, I just checked now and prices are crazy!

Pic below shows a switch I bought that wouldn't light up the switch "FOG" letters. Took it apart and found the trace on that bulb was bad (trace missing on RH side of PCB). I soldered in a new trace (small piece of wire) plus a new bulbs for both the "FOG" and indication light. I use incandescent bulbs so they can be dimmed, unlike LED's which are either super bright, bright, or off when you try and dim them. Plus, the stock bulbs lasted 10+ years. I slipped a red silicone sleeve over FOG bulb to match the rest of my interior.

Holy crap....that is absolutely AMAZING. Thank you! I think I am going to have to do what you did. So you put small wires ontop of the IC. I am going to post everything I have because I am really struggling to get this to work. I am not using the exact OEM solution. I am not integrating back into the lighting systems.

I could really use some help team. I have been looking at this for too long and not making progress. I got the other switches working with no issues.

NOTE: I am NOT trying to use the fog light as the OEM intented.

OEM – The OEM integrated the switch into the lighting system in a way that prevents the user from using the fog lights under certain conditions.

GOAL. I just want to use the switch “as a switch” at my discretion.

I have not gotten any configuration to work AT ALL! Please help, you are my only hope Obiwan.

I have spliced into the Cargo Light bezel configuration for an Aux Light and it works. I have spliced in for the fog light and the volt meter indicates it is working.

I have not been able to get any switch functionality to work. I think the IC might be looking for a confirmation signal or power source coming from the “Orange (D)” wire.

I have no idea what the second spring connector actually does.

What does this connection do? Any idea? How come your switch only seems to have 1 LED?

Which diagram are using? Instrument lighting or fog light activation?
