I think on these trucks the switch starts acting up, and then the resistor and the blower motor start going bad. At least this is what happened to me on our other 99 Burb. Replaced all 3 parts, and replaced the switch multiple times before we got a good one. It was still good when the truck was wrecked, so it got salvaged and will be going in the current Burb. Along with the stereo system, once I get to the dashboard repair.
It's probably usually some combination of things; one part goes bad and if left unfixed long enough, takes others out eventually.
I wanted to enjoy the great weather today and go to the yard, but I'm broke again till next paycheck.....
