I have a 88 Chevy Stepside 4x4 with 265/75/R16 currently with aftermarket rims with BFG MT.
I'm considering buying set of real nice 17" rims wrapped in 265/70/R17 Goodyear Wranglers Authority tires.

I'm at stock height and want to know if I can fit these.
I know the back spacing on these are listed as +30 and that they were installed on a 2006 Silverado 1500.
If I could fit them without issue would this size affect my speedo and torque adversely?
My truck has 3.42 gears (GU6) and Eaton Locker (G80).

going to a smaller/larger size tire will affect your speedo depending on how big the change in tire size is.

265/75r16 and 265/70r17 are the same size. 265÷25.4(25.4mm per inch)=10.43307 thats your tire width. Width times aspect ratio (2nd number is side wall height so 75% of width) so 10.43307x.75= 7.8248025 times 2 because side wall above and below rim is 15.649605 + rim diameter of 16 = 31.649605 for the 265/75r16" tall. Using the same conversion the 265/70r17 is 31.606298" tall. Switching tires brand and model will effect the size more than that your BFGs tend to run small where as the Goodyears will be truer to advertised size but im betting that there is still less than 1/2-1" difference no different than going from a worn out tire to a new one.

Just found out that I had the back spacing info wrong.
It actually has a +10 mm Offset with a back spacing 5.39 in.
If I'm still good with the new info I'll be picking them up Wednesday night.
