i had an 85 monte carlo with a 4.3 tbi and it said vortec on the air cleaner. the term vortec has been used for many years.

Actually, I kind of like it. I'd change the wheels and then ditch the wood from the interior though.

tis true my 90 s-10 blazer said vortec on the valve covers... and then my 94 had a vortec both were 4.3's

Thats what i see every time i crack open the hood of the '95 as well.

pretty sure this particular 4.3 was one of the highest power rated v6 that they produced up until recently somewhere like 200 HP factory ( aside for the turbo 4.3's) anyway my 94 was a two door and it hauled some major a$$ for being a grocery getter

I believe you are correct on that. '94,'95 had the 200 hp then went down in the 96+ versions
