    Vortec heads would work if you drill the steam hole that the 400 uses for cooling, but its got freshy machined heads with zero run time. I'm not sure of the year but it was in a 52 pickup till it was swapped out for a 302 ford and some mpgs. Only other thing I know of that is different off hand...

    So I have found a 400 small block and would like to put it in place of the 305 that spun a bearing at only 161 thousand miles. My biggest question is my truck is a '97 with vortec fuel injection, will that bolt over to the 400? And other than a custom tune to adjust the fuel supply what else...

    What would be the best type to get? I pissed off a guy in an F150 today because it was slick and I spun um in 2x4 so shifted to 4x4 and it took its time getting in so he went a roarin on by.

    When I shift into 4x4 it takes about 20 seconds for 4x4 light to come on and it actually engage. Is there any way to make it so when I pull the shifter it locks right in?

    So is the 6 inch better than the 3 inch? It sounds like with both you have to crank t bars to get lift. Does that mean that the 4 inch is the best. If I got the 3 inch and replaced all front end components with HD versions would that be good enough? So is rough country's leveling kit bad...

    Thanks for all the advice! How much would gas mileage change if I went to 4in with 33s or 6in with 35s? I currently get 10-16 with 265/75/r16s depending on how and where you drive it. I will see if i can get a picture or two soon.
