    Front diff swap

There’s 3 2wd 3/4ton 6 lug trucks at my local junkyard and one has a g80 3.73 so hopefully it’s not gone before I can get it.

    Front diff swap

I need the smaller diff, I want the 3.73 gears so they match the back. I’m swapping the rear 10 bolt for a 14 bolt 6 lug axle with limited slip. I’ll check the local junkyard tomorrow if they have any front diffs with the 3.73s

    Front diff swap

I was looking at pictures of them because I don’t have a gmt800 to look at but they look very similar. If all I have to do is swap axle tubes that would be nice. The other thing I didn’t know about is the wiring, I have a push button 4x4 so I didn’t know if the wiring would be different for the...

    Front diff swap

Idk if this has been talked about before. I have a 1998 Chevy K1500 Z71 Silverado and I wanted to get a set of 3.73 gears for it but for the front diff it would seem simpler to just put a different front diff in. I find a lot of gmt800 3.73 front diffs but not many gmt400s. Would the gmt800...

    Brakes squishy when driving

I had someone push the brakes while I opened the bleeder. I’ve never had problems like this on any other vehicle.

    Brakes squishy when driving

It’s good when parked with the engine on. I pinched the rear brake line to hopefully not get air upstream or let it drain out. And today I got the abs to activate a few times on the ice we got but the squishy pedal came back

    Brakes squishy when driving

If air never reached the abs module then does it still need to be bled?

    Brakes squishy when driving

Also I will add that it feels like there is less braking force and the brakes are dragging a little.

    Brakes squishy when driving

On my 1998 k1500 I did pads, rotors, drums, shoes, and rear wheel cylinders and now while driving the pedal feels extra squishy compared to how they normally feel but when parked they feel fine. Yes I bled the brakes, yes the drums are adjusted, and the brake fluid is topped off. Anyone have any...

    Seat belt buckle bolts stuck

I got the correct t47 plus impact from Snap-On and even with my 1400ft-lbs Milwaukee impact it won’t budge. It actually twisted the bit

    Seat belt buckle bolts stuck

Thanks for all the suggestions but it broke another tool and then stripped out unfortunately

    Seat belt buckle bolts stuck

I’m replacing my bucket seats and center console with a 60/40 bench seat and when trying to remove the seat belt buckles for the new ones the bolts won’t come out and ended up breaking the bit I was using. Is there a trick to getting them out?

Belt Squeak is driving me crazy

Thank you for all the suggestions. I should say that between changing each of the parts the squeak would go away then come back within a week. I did find it this time, I replaced the belt and it went away. The old new belt was sticky after a few hundred miles. Thank you for the suggestion on the...

Belt Squeak is driving me crazy

I have a 1998 Chevy K1500 with the 5.7 and I’ve had this belt squeak for months and can’t get it to go away. I have replaced the alternator(twice), belt (4 times), tensioner and idler(twice), water pump and pulley, and crank pulley. It is driving me insane and I don’t know what else to do on it...
