    1991 C1500 TURBO 5.3/4L80E

Cool build! For the computer, are you doing the tune or having it done? I have the equipment to flash 512k and 1M PCMs, but had to rely on people for help to make the actual binaries.

    1991 C1500 Hydroboost swap issues

gotcha, yea junkyards are hit and miss. Esp now where they only want to pull the exact parts for you. *start rant* I guess people dont care about pulling their own parts anymore but I like walking around the junkyard and finding out stuff that I would never know. *end rant* Like for instance...

    1991 C1500 Hydroboost swap issues

Ah typical. I didn't mention the 0.627 (16mm) pin because figured they would sending you the correct parts (like you ordered)...but that's the way it goes sometimes. .627" ~16mm pin is used on later hydroboost vehicles and I have never seen it on a GMT400 truck. I think GMT400s only have 4...

    1991 C1500 Hydroboost swap issues

I made a cad model of this pin and you can dl it here for free > https://grabcad.com/library/gmt400-hydroboost-brake-pin-1 . placement of the pin on the pedal rod depends on the length of rod out of the back of the booster, which varies from year/model. I have converted a few gmt400s to...

    Rear brakes locking

Do you have hydroboost? Several gmt400s with hydroboost I've had would lock the back wheels sometimes when you just tap the brakes. But for me this only happens in the first minute of driving from a cold start though.

How can I bypass VATS or delete it?

It's just one bit flip to turn this off in your computer. if you dont know or have time to figure it out (all of the info is out there for free), paying a turner $50-$75 is a pretty cheap and easy option. If you really cant find one let me know.

    88GMCtruck's NV4500 Swap

I wouldn't bet on that. Is it 2wd or 4wd? Early 2wd nv4500s weren't slipyoke and needed a 2 piece shaft. Yes, even std cab ones because I've pulled several that were 2 piece. Either way, just get a longer than needed 1350 driveshaft and shorten it yourself, it's not hard (this is what I...

    NV 3500 Manual

Yea that whole "$500 nv4500" is pretty much a thing of the past on the coasts. I found 2 in 2012 (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/engines-trannys-t-cases-sale/1077719-2-nv4500s-sale-nj.html) but none this year, and I routinely visit junkyards in the tristate area. I'm sure they're out...

    NV 3500 Manual

Word :smoke2:. They are nice but can cost alot more if you don't find a deal. Plus they are typically in work pigs, so the ones i've come across were either beat to or were used heavly in an obvious plow truck (no thanks). If you have a 4.3 or 5.0 I wouldnt completely shut out a nv3500 trans...

    NV 3500 Manual

To rebuild the nv3500 you're probably in for a bad time unless you have the tools and precision measuring stuff to see the condition of the guts. Could be done though. The good news is you can probably pick up a used nv3500 trans cheap because fairly common (for manual transes). They really...

    Changing clutch engagement height

yes. it moves the flywheel/clutch further back so it hits the fork sooner.

    Changing clutch engagement height

hmm yea not sure, you might have to change the master to one that's the same diameter as was origionally equipped with the nv4500. maybe check to see if the PN is the same for ones with nv3500 vs nv4500? if the pn is different see if you can find master cyl diameters (like 3/4" 7/8" etc) and...

    O2 sensor help

if you have an old O2 sensor that you dont want anymore, just break off the non thread part and fill it with weld. This is hand too when welding near a bung, so you dont get weld splatter in the threads.

    Changing clutch engagement height

not sure what you mean for external slave on internal master? I'm guessing you mean you have the GM style slave (sticks out the bellhousing near the starter but other direction). but what do you mean for internal master?

    Problem ordering online

I get the following when I order online. 1. I have used this card every time for rockauto. 2. The last time I ordered from rockauto was in March, and I have not changed ANYTHING whatsoever about the card or addresses or phone numbers etc. 3. I've tried to make this order on Wednesday...

    Oil pressure gauge

yup I agree with that. I always thought 5w30 was too thin, even when the truck was new (didnt older SBCs take thicker oil?). However girl at my work has a prius that takes 0w20 so I guess if you want more power, you gotta go thin LOL

I recieved an overweight ticket in NC for towing this LOL

How does that work if you made you're own trailer? I've owned 2 trailers and both didnt have a weight stamp or whatever. One was home built from C-channel, and the other was mangled so badly that it had to be rebuilt and was titled as a new home built trailer.

    Oil pressure gauge

Could be just wearin out. Motor gets use, clearances get bigger, oil resisance gets lower, pressure goes down. Circle of life, like the lion king. But you are still in the good times. You could possibly have another +100k left on that motor, if you keep up with regular fluid changes. If...

    Fuel pump upgrade

That's a good thought, about keep gas in the tank to keep it cool; never thought of it that way. Mine had over 200k on it but I always kept the tank as full as I could. Maybe it really did make a difference...
