    Need a better transmission cooler

Thanks for the tips, guys. I cleaned out in front and between the radiator, AC condenser, and tranny cooler. I also replaced the fan clutch as I was not sure if it was working properly on our trip. I have the stock 350 motor, which also was in the process of giving up the ghost on this last...

    Need a better transmission cooler

I have a 1992 Chevy 3/4 ton with the lighter transmission redone by Aamco with heavy duty clutches and overdrive. I am towing a total of about 6000 pounds. Still boiling the tranny fluid coming over the mountain passes. It has a smallish cooler on the front and then routes into the radiator...

Need a softer ride for my stock 1992 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive

I have been on the phone with Coil Spring Specialties in Saint Marys, KS. They make coil springs from scratch. Gave them the GM part number for these stock springs. He said the spring rate for those is 1200 pounds, meaning it takes 1200 pounds to compress it 1 inch. He said those were stiff...

Ride to stiff Thanks for the quick response guys. I checked and they are load range E to carry 1380 pounds with 80 pounds pressure. They have 50-55 pounds in each. Great idea to lower the pressure.

Installing transmission temp sensor and gauge on a 1992 chev 3/4 with automatic

It is the lighter truck and transmission I did some research and got some pictures of the trannys possible on this 3/4 ton and yes, it is the lighter duty 700R or whatever followed in 1992. It has, I believe, 4 speeds and an overdrive gear. I see the port on the driver's side. Since it is...

Installing transmission temp sensor and gauge on a 1992 chev 3/4 with automatic

Hello all, I am new to the forum and hope to learn more about how to maintain and improve my recently purchased 1992 3/4-ton truck. We recently bought a travel trailer that is 4880 pounds dry. I have had past problems with the transmission overheating on a 1981 3/4 ton in the mountains...
